Step 1 — Unroll Your Board
Unroll your inflatable paddleboard in a clear and safe flat area. Take your time to unfold it completely, ensuring that there are no kinks or twists.
Step 2 — Assemble Your Hand Pump
Assemble the double action hand pump by connecting the hose to the handle connection.
To activate double action, insert and secure the plug at the tube's top into the hole. If pumping becomes too resistant, remove the plug to switch to single action for easier high-pressure pumping.
Step 3 — Prepare the Valve for Inflation
Open the valve cap and ensure that the valve stem is in the top position (closing the air flow). If not, gently press the valve stem and rotate it until it pops up and raises.
This is important — if the valve stem is in the down position, air will escape as fast as you pump it in.
Step 4 — Connect and Inflate
Locate the inflation valve on your paddleboard. Connect the nozzle of the pump hose to the valve, pressing it down and turning it to engage the hooks inside the valve.
Begin pumping with steady, full strokes. Use your body weight by leaning into each pump stroke rather than relying only on arm strength. This will save you significant energy.

Shop NowStep 5 — Check the Pressure
Monitor the pressure gauge on your pump. Most TWT boards should be inflated to 15 PSI for optimal performance. Some boards can handle up to 20 PSI for a firmer ride.
Once you reach the desired pressure, quickly disconnect the hose and close the valve cap to prevent air loss.
Do not over-inflate your board, especially on hot days. Air expands with heat, which can put excessive pressure on the seams. If paddling in direct sun, inflate to 1-2 PSI below maximum.
